The Tunmarsh School Outreach Team aims to provide access to education for students from 5 to 16 years old, who are unable to attend school for medical, mental health or behavioural reasons. We aim to work together with students and their families and carers to ensure that we provide access to education which takes into consideration the specific needs of each student. The core subjects – English, Maths and Science - are taught in students’ home or local library as well as at The Haven - Outreach classroom based at Tunmarsh School. Students are also offered Textiles or Art, PE, Food Technology, MFL and Music. Other students are offered support to keep up their learning in line with their school, ready for them to make a smooth return to school.
Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 students follow a broad and balanced curriculum, whilst students in Key Stage 4 are focused on achieving success in their GCSEs or Functional Skills, as appropriate. We also support Year 11 students with their next educational steps.
