"I think the quality of feedback, clarity of processes and level of input at Phoenix is fantastic. The systems you have set up to support pupils with SEMH needs really gives them the best opportunity to succeed and return to their mainstream setting – thank you.

AW - Brampton Primary

Parent of student returning to mainstream school

"Tunmarsh have been flexible in offering the support throughout his transition, which has included weekly mentoring sessions. Staff have also worked collaboratively with us as a school, advised, and contributed to his pastoral support plan (PSP). Tunmarsh are invested in a child’s success when they return to mainstream and are very active in checking in to see that the transition has been successful. Support for our son has been excellent. This began by preparing him for his return over a number of weeks prior to his return date and has continued for several weeks after he has returned. The remote 1-1 support has by far been the most useful support in helping the transition. Closer to the end of the year we would welcome the idea of our son returning to Tunmarsh to speak to other students about his experience."

"Unbelievable care for students. It's personal. Staff take care of the children and go above. I am very satisfied with the support my child has received. I have had contact contact and been kept in the loop about my son returning to mainstream school. I think that the school does a fantastic job."

TESTIMONIALS

When students leave us at Newham PRUs to return to a mainstream school or  move on to post 16 education or training, we often get feedback from them and their families.

Feedback from a Head Teacher at local Secondary School about support for a student in Y10 in reintegrating back into mainstream.

"The support from staff at Newham PRUs has been vital in supporting pupil engagement. The service has been excellent.... There is excellent communication and on-going support. Newham PRUs shared comprehensive information about the pupil joining our setting. The PRU understood the needs of pupil well and frequently shared suggestions with us. There is a consistent approach when any pupil transitions between PRU/Mainstream. Having a member of staff to work with the school and put suggestions in place when incidents arise – someone who knows the pupil well is a real help. An option for further work could be for classes/activities to be run by Newham PRUs that cannot be offered within mainstream – perhaps that focus on more hands-on activities, allowing pupils to have a more flexible timetable/time off-site."
