Careers and Post-16

INFORMATION

Newham PRUs: Careers Guidance Commitment:

The main aim/objective of Careers Guidance provision is to ensure that all students have the knowledge and information to make informed decisions about their future career progression opportunities. We want all students by the end of year 11 to have secured at least one conditional offer of a College, Training or Apprenticeship programme. Those who do not secure an offer are referred to Newham’s Raising The Participation Age (RPA) Team based at Newham Workplace for additional CIAG support. The RPA Team will work with the students and their families to help them to secure a meaningful and relevant post 16 offer.

Once students have officially left school, they are tracked and monitored for up to one academic year, to ensure that they are making progress and engaged. Students are welcome and encouraged to return to school to continue to receive careers guidance if/when required.

The Careers Programme:

The Careers Education provision offered equips students with the knowledge, skills and information they require; to enable them to develop key transferable skills that they can then go onto use in their future career pathways.
